OVERVIEW

This 19th century traditional Ottoman-style wooden house, set in the old town of Sultanahmet, was converted into a boutique hotel in 1990. Its 48 charming rooms – singles, doubles and triples available – are comfortable and enjoy mod cons like satellite TV, minibar and free wi-fi...there’s even a pillow menu for sleep connoisseurs.

Some standard rooms have balconies with a wonderful sea view but to be sure, book an Elegance room, which comes with a balcony guarantee as well as more space; Executive rooms are bigger still, with high ceilings and large tubs in the bathrooms

The delightful Sipsi Restaurant and Bar – which serves continental and Turkish cuisine, and caters for both children and vegetarians - overlooks the Marmara Sea and is decorated in Ottoman style with Kütahya wall tiles and stained glass windows; the marble floors are covered with tasteful Turkish carpets and kilims.

The hotel’s buffet breakfast can be enjoyed in the breakfast lounge or in the lovely confines of the garden, whose rookery with waterfall fountain adds to the relaxing ambience.

The hotel is in an excellent location, just a few minutes walk from the Blue Mosque, Saint Sophia Museum, Topkapi Palace and other major historical sights. A wonderful choice for any visit to Istanbul, whether you’re seeking total escape or stimulating exploration.
